Well, the touch!

Not many would know how much love and affection is being poured by parents on us, until a particular age.

Well we do feel them sometimes though.
I just imagine how’d they’ve felt when they dropped us everytime at our school premises/ bus stops/ rail stations and waving us good bye!?

I was riding on my bike heading to the railway station, with the thought of not missing the train.. but something caught my eye…

I saw a dad dropping off his well grown son, he should be into his 11th grade. But when he got off the bike, dad got hold hold of cheeks and quickly took his comb from his shirt pocket.

Muttering out “Nalla padi(trans. Study well) he looked at his son beamingly and combed his hair.

While I rode past this scene, all I could remember was my time with my appa. Once, during my college days, when I crossed a jam packed road along with appa, he caught hold of my hand and didn’t leave me even after we crossed the road.

I kinda felt shy, I slowly wanted to relieve my hand out of his, that’s when he looked at me and said “you’ve grown big, you’re feeling shy is it?” and laughed at me looking at his well grown son going shy.

Well, he also said that he did the same with his dad and my grandad also laughed at him, when he felt shy!

I just took my 84 year old maternal grandad for a haircut, when I caught hold of his feeble soft hands, all I could feel is, I’d be feeling feeble after some years too.

It wasn’t just a moment to pass by, I could feel that I’m feeling the hand of my older self. I saw an older myself getting down the flight of stairs slowly holding a young man’s hands.

Touch teaches, touch touches.
