#75Hard day 51

A beautiful sunny day, but straddled with some difficulty.  I wasn't sure how or when I'd be able to get all of the things done today.  My son, Asa, and my wife Annika both caught a tummy bug of some kind.  We were all up pretty late last night, tending to messes and discomfort.  I had to stretch a bit today, but Annika was very gracious, despite her not feeling well, to help me.  Here's the recap.

Bible Reading
I started the book of Nahum today.   It's another book of judgment, but this time the judgment isn't directed as Judah or the Israelites, but rather the city of Ninevah and the Assyrians.  This seems interesting to me, because not only did God use the Assyrians to judge Judah previously, he also sent Jonah to Ninevah to tell the Ninevites about God and warn them of his judgment.  I'm not sure how the timelines of Jonah and Nahum line up, but it's all very interesting.

I got in a bit longer ride today and was able to enjoy the beautiful sunny 80 degree weather today.  I was actually thinking I might do 60-80 miles this morning, but I had to cut back to take care of my family.  I got in a little over 30 miles in just under two hours.  They were very high quality miles though.  I was pushing sweet spot to threshold power almost the whole ride, and even got in some anaerobic efforts on some of the hills.  I was able to get a pretty decent PR on Chocktaw climb too.  It felt really good.

Reading
I finished reading the rule about not letting your children do anything that will make you hate them.  I thought it was all really good advice.  At one point in the chapter Peterson laid out some basic rules for your children to aim for.  I thought they were all very interesting, and will probably refer back to them.  I need to re-skim it all though.  I'm having trouble recalling them in my current low energy state.

Diet
Breakfast: eggs, bacon and sour dough
lunch: left over steak salad
Dinner: chicken, pasta, broccoli and sour dough bread
I also had two bottles of Gatorade on my ride and a banana afterwards.
I let myself go a little carb heavy today considering I burned nearly 1500 calories on my bike ride.

Water
About 140oz.

Progress
183.4.  Seems like I'm starting to yoyo and plateau a little.  Gotta be patient.  I still have 3 weeks of discipline to work on this . . . And many days beyond.
