Today was another good consistent day. It's the last of the great weather we've been having. There's some storms rolling in with some cooler weather following, but it's not too terribly cold, so I can't complain. Here's the recap for the day.
Bible Reading On to Zephaniah and it opens with a doozy of judgment. "Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord's wrath."
Workouts Got in a final bike ride in this 70+ degree warm spell we've been having. It felt really good. I pushed it above threshold a few times, even setting a PR on one of my favorite hills, and hovered just under threshold for most of the ride. Going to miss the 70s for a little bit though :(
Reading I started rule 9 of Peterson's 12 Rules for Life. The rule is to "tell the truth, or at least don't lie." He begins the chapter telling several personal stories where he learned that telling the truth, even when it was hard, when he thought the truth my hurt someone, it was still the right thing to do. While we might be able to achieve some kind of short term social currency with a harmless lie, the deception adds up. People can sense deception, and they won't trust you because of it.
Diet Breakfast: Oatmeal with peanut butter and dark chocolate with a bit of sourdough bread. Lunch: an apple, some left over grilled chicken, a cheese stick wrapped in deli turkey and a large serving of Gatorade power and Liquid IV to help hydrate after my bike ride. Dinner: Chipotle chicken burrito Snacks: a few sunflower seeds and a mandarin
Water About 130oz
Progress Scale was way down this morning at 180.8. I think my muscle glycogen was pretty low after yesterday's long and hard bike ride. I didn't have many carbs yesterday, so I think that had quite an effect on my water retention. We'll see what tomorrow looks like.
Husband and Father are my two favorite titles. I have 4 wonderful children and a beautiful wife. Everything else I do in life is a means to building my family. I'm also a software engineer with a focus on operating web apps on AWS. All the rest of my free time is mainly spent riding bicycles on roads and trails.
