Only 4 more days! I'll hit my mark on Sunday, and I hope to share a longer post then to give further detail about what I've learned on this journey, and how I'll put it into practice. Until then, here's today's recap.
Bible Reading Zechariah 11 - This one was a bit out there. It seems to essentially be damning to those who forsake to take care of people.
Workouts
I went out to Chickasaw for an amazing trail ride. It's been quite a while since I've been out there. But it felt really good, and I set a bucketload of PRs. The weather was great too. I ended the day with 30 minutes of yoga.
Reading I read the coda of Peterson's 12 Rules of Life. I'm not really sure what a coda is, it was the last chapter after the rules. But it was a really nice summary of the whole book. He revisited all of the rules as he recounted a night he spent speaking with himself, and listening intensely, to some questions about life he was pondering. Questions like what do I do with my wife and what do I do with my children and what do I do with the world, amongst many others. He wrote down answers to these questions as he reflected and related those answers back to the 12 rules. It was fun and enlightening to read. I almost skipped it, as the usual back of the book cruft doesn't usually have much to glean from, but I'm glad I didn't.
Diet Breakfast: Sourdough bread with butter Lunch: Left over grilled chicken with potatoes and green beans Dinner: 3 tacos on corn tortillas with onions and cheese. Snacks: a couple of apples and a cheese stick.
Husband and Father are my two favorite titles. I have 4 wonderful children and a beautiful wife. Everything else I do in life is a means to building my family. I'm also a software engineer with a focus on operating web apps on AWS. All the rest of my free time is mainly spent riding bicycles on roads and trails.
