Six set for debuts: Falcons v Tigers pre-match info

Tigers scored seven tries in a strong win over London Irish last weekend. Friday night brings a change of pace as the league has a pause and the Premiership Rugby Cup takes centre stage.

📺 Kick off is 7.45pm on Friday 18 March. The game is live on BT Sport.

With both teams giving plenty of first team players a well deserved break, this one will be hard to call.

Tigers won their two previous games in the cup, beating Sale at home and then thrashing Wasps in Coventry.

Brett Deacon, Leicester Tigers Assistant Coach, has been in charge this week and he had this to say ahead of the match:

This group has been chomping at the bit all week for this opportunity to represent the club on Friday night. A lot of these guys have been involved all season, training incredibly hard, and now have an opportunity to show Steve [Borthwick] and the rest of the coaching team what they can do.

Here are the official line-ups.

Tigers have gone for a mostly inexperienced side with six of the squad making debuts. A further seven have three or less caps. That said, there’s some experience in the backs, with Jaco Taute captaining the side. Taute will makes his first appearance of the season after a long-term injury.
