Totally new 23 for Premiership Cup: Tigers v Irish team news

It’s only a day since Tigers played and beat Exeter but they’re back announcing their team for the Premiership Cup game at home to London Irish tomorrow.

Tigers go into the game probably needing a bonus point win to secure a place the semi-finals. Even with that, the format means they could be left depending on the results of other teams.

With the short turnaround, it’s an entirely new team from Sunday’s side.

📺 Kick off is 7.45 on Tuesday 29 March. The game is not available to watch on TV.

Here are the official line-ups.

1) Francois van Wyk 2) Charlie Clare 3) Will Hurd 4) Tomiwa Agbongbon 5) Lewis Chessum 6) Emeka Ilione 7) Olly Robinson © 8) Sean Jansen

9) Sam Edwards 10) Dan Lancaster 11) Hosea Saumaki 12) Juan Pablo Socino 13) Kini Murimurivalu 14) Joe Browning 15) Bryce Hegarty

16) Tom Cowan-Dickie 17) Dan Richardson 18) Tim Hoyt 19) Finn Carnduff 20) Simon Koroiyadi 21) Jonny Law 22) Joseph Woodward 23) Jacob Cusick

1) Allan Dell 2) Mike Willemse 3) Ciaran Parker 4) Chandler Cunningham-South 5) Jack Cooke © 6) Ben Donnell 7) Lucas Brooke 8) Josh Smart.

9) Hugh O’Sullivan 10) Noel Reid 11) Michael Dykes 12) Phil Cokanasiga 13) Will Joseph 14) Cillian Redmond 15) Henry Arundell

16) Tadgh McElroy 17) Facundo Gigena 18) Luke Green 19) Chunya Munga 20) Ben Atkins 21) Caolan Englefield 22) Jacob Atkins 23) Alex Harmes

This team is an exciting blend of youth and experience. Inevitably, that makes it hard to predict how this will go. As we saw in the narrow defeat to an experienced Newcastle side though, any side coached by Steve Borthwick is going to be well drilled. And, even though it’s not the first team, you can be sure this side are not going to want to be the ones to lose our unbeaten home record.
