So my issues with GNOME turned out to the VRR related (Variable Refresh Rate) and how it works with nVidia graphics. I turned it off and all is good. So I'm using GNOME until they break something.

I tried COSMIC and it's good. Needs some refinement and the visuals are a tad bit rough but it's a perfectly usable desktop solution right now, at least on Arch.

KDE, I like you, I don't love you. I really hope KDE doesn't continue to dominate Linux as it has the last couple years. Its just so ugly, I can't see wide adoption from new users. Guess we'll see.
