I think if i'm correct, it will have to be a discussion involving all of society, hence a meme.
The fact that cops showed up proves my point: https://x.com/andytrattner_/status/1951644069295456566?s=46
Doesn't have to be me, but don't call the police when I'm thinking out loud please, read this first: https://x.com/andytrattner_/status/1951637374229995966?s=46
If nobody listens I will have to proceed and test myself. This is what I meant by "founding a cult." It certainly provoked a strong reaction over the past few days in my test market of ideas and relationships with smart people I trust to validate stuff.
This same reaction, I believe, underlies our downfall without such a system given exponential GDP growth and inability to execute "management as government". The government is low-agency. Ghandi For AI must be provably high agency in a particular form factor along certain key dimensions.
I do think by definition it's a profitable mission, immensely so, but only if one is perfectly aligned. Not Sam Altman or Elon then, too many vested interests. You have to be OK with serving like the Pope and also being a founder unable to retire or pivot for a long time.
And your net worth goes to zero, even though you will control some aspects of civilization. So it's a very scary idea to consider testing on myself.
