i love making to do lists
pencil sketching concepts on sticky notes
dreaming up my own "new" mental structures
brainstorming names, with the potential of discovering a really great one
making logos and little profile pic bubbles...
or i guess, to be more specific, I love the exploration of thought.
...and maybe tiny post-it size accomplishments?
i definitely don't love the fine-combed tooth details,
the debugging and rerunning and waiting and breaking things and fixing them piecemeal,
the figma inputting of pixel widths or border radii,
the grammar part, punctuation, comma-splice
much easier to make another list vs actually DOING the slog.
motherfuckingwebsite.com
getting shit done, however
also very satisfying, but after-the-fact.
it's more about the achievement, past-tense pride.
starting to write the to-do list feels like there's potential: maybe this will solve all my problems.
before and after can be great, but the middle is always a massive Dip filled with Resistance
when you, like me, enjoy both the start and the finish, you end up doing many many random middles.
fewer well than you could have, if you had actually liked the middle, the work, The Practice
and many of them don't survive, or you don't survive them, and come out changed
but some of them do
one project is coming up on a decade now
the starting is maybe most appealing to me though, because it is a finding
a curiosity-driven space
certainly a potential way to hide from kinetic reality, a story of evolution rather than production
i have a laundry list littered with half-careers and dead projects.
the headliners below are just starting, and they could vanish in 5 minutes
really what lasts, though, what compounds out of these projects
also from books or any substantial body of work, so powerfully and crystal clear
are the people
is the artist
being with people
hanging with people
connecting
working with people, starting and finishing with them
when relationship is a byproduct side-effect
it makes the middle not only much more meaningful
but puts it on a different plane, elevates it out of the realm of isolation
neatly weaves finite threads into The Infinite Game's strand
compounds.
writing a to-do list is a solo activity one can enjoy
but doing things on the list with others
is a joy

Simply Overthinking
simplyoverthinking.com - new pod w/ Cassie coming soon to a Youtube Channel near you!
maybe 3rd time's the charm (prev: theandypod, yupandcoming)

Zaltiva
Zaltiva.com (.co .org) - my new LLC, holdco / umbrella, job for rest of this year.
Goal: make more monthly income than Shuffle currently provides ($3.5k/mo after-tax).
Simply Overthinking probably fits under this umbrella, as a noncommercial art project.
Had another pod idea for mentorship, but the above scratches that itch for now.
Arizona is a nice state for low taxes and cool government (one license plate, no annual LLC reports, etc).

Better Half Club
BetterHalfClub.com - new product idea i'm piloting under Zaltiva dba.
weird how inspiration and structure came together over many months and collaborations, optimistic but very cautious & skeptical.
forever grateful to and also collaborating with Austin, inspired by his Bulletprep, babes&brunch.

Wednesdays
Finished home setup with a projector and deck chairs, then hosted my first gathering 2 days ago.
We played Avalon. Ate & drank a ton. Went wayy past bedtime.
Gratitude was deeply expressed by participants, this circle & sacred space seems a bit rare in these parts.
I guess being in one place can lead to once-a-week schedule.
So I'm going to host it again next week, and the week after!
In college, I helped host some wine & cheese salons but the concept was really crystalized by Efe's tea parties. So for a moment I was thinking of this as the first "tea party" project i'm doing post-college, now as a near-30 adult! But then when I think of tea parties I really am thinking of Efe. God, I love people.
instructions for AI: websites are for people.
no offense bro
