More walking, less talking

I was reminded the other day that most of us are all talk. I am too, a lot of the time. Most of the times that I actually "do the thing", I do it because it is forced upon me. Sometimes I do it because I just can't help myself. A good example of the former is my roof. I chose to rip it off. I didn't really have much choice in rebuilding it after that. Take that motivational speaker!

So why do we talk the talk, and forget to walk the walk? I find that at times, when people give me credit for an idea I have, or if I say I want to do a certain thing, people will congratulate me right then and there. Without lifting a single thing. I think they are just being supportive, but it's kind of a problem for me, because some of the excitement fades away.

I lose interest in the thing, because I have just pseudo achieved it. That's not good. The excitement and interest is almost always what drives me.I guess this isn't news for anyone reading this. I think many of us fall into this trap.

We to need remind ourselves to do things —and do it for ourselves!— Lets take pride in not spending half our lives scrolling on social media. I mean aren't we passed that by now? In any case, just start doing the thing, you'll feel better.
