I am obsessed with the Average. It is a thought that I have played around with before. Today it crystallized into something more in my head as I was pushing my youngest daughter in the pram along our dirt road.

I am average. In fact, we are all part of the average. It is the sum of us. When you think of it, it is something that binds every human being on earth together. We take part in this ephemeral idea of averages.

We all contribute to the average. You are always part of the equation whether you like it or not. The cosmos will remember what you did. Even if it is only Laplace's demon who can see it.

We find truths in averages. 
We learn about them i elemetary maths. Use them to split a smarties pack in a fair manner.
We make decisions based on them. In a world where we all want different things, we can unite with what most people want. With what the average want.
