A few weeks ago I told a friend and colleague about how I thought my brain worked when it came to creating and building. I told him my experience because I think he functions in the same way. When I was telling him about it, I was saying it out loud for the first time.

Ever since, I have had my eye on this process to see if it was all just bullshit or if I was actually on to something. In short, my brain absolutely loves novelty. The unknown path, the discovery. The mastery of something new is like water in the desert.

It is as if this has become even more true ever since I said it aloud. Now, that could be <insert 1 of many biases>, or it could be because I am more confident, and I am leaning in even more. In any case, I feel much better about my work than I have in a long while.

As I stand here writing this end of week post I can only say that smashing through the first prototypes of a new game while working alongside with other work 'things', I feel elated. Even if this game idea fizzes out in a week, I am having fun with it right now. It is adding to my work, and my brain in any case. I feel like I am moving in the right direction.

So stop trying fight the current, swim against it at your peril. Have a great friday.
