I just checked my roof again. It's pouring down outside, and there is only a tiny place around the chimeny where a few drops of water are coming in. I feel so relieved that I no longer have to worry about rain coming in. Yes, yes, I still need a proper roof. But all things considered, my plan so far is working out quite nicely.
Let's talk about something else. I recently dove back into my agentic music quiz. I want to show it to my friends when we gather for Christmas lunch this Saturday. I didn't do much logic work yesterday, because it works most of the time. I think using a little time on making it look good has quite a good cost benefit to it. Besides, I am far enough along in development, to do so. I would prefer to be completely done with all functionality before skinning it, but that wouldn't be realistic.
After more than a decade of Frontend experience, I finally learned how important it is to get all the logic working on a specific feature before adding the design details. In the past, I would get lost in rabbit holes trying to make the perfect spinner, even though my feature wasn't even mature enough to use said spinner.
Long gone are those days.. Well, like I told you above, almost. Building an MVP is a little different I suppose. The purpose of the MVP is to test out your idea before investing too heavily in it. I think using a few hours on polishing it the week of the launch is well worth it. Obviously, things need to be working most of the time. Or at least on the 'main track'.
That's it for today.
