It is very late. Well, not really. It's 19:43. For me that is late for many things. I try to be in bed before 9pm, I try to write early in the morning, and I try to do my work before 2pm. Today is a different day apparently. I see it as a good thing.
I really like when things are in a system, predictable and routine. It helps me function. But things need to be stretched sometimes. We need to do things at odd hours. This tests our resolve. It challenges the status quo and helps us callous ourselves. That's a great word by the way, 'callous'. I had to look up the spelling. Even my best guess wasn't good enough for the spell check figure out.
Today I spent the first couple or hours working, but after Christina came back from dropping off the younglings, we made brunch, and watched a movie in bed. At 12, I went back to work. This was a great way to do something different. Out of the norm. It makes the day special. You get to enjoy the time spent together, better than if it were just another Saturday night eating dinner and watching Netflix. I also enjoy this on occasion, but I imagine it is the norm for many couples these days unfortunately. It seems that way when I speak with other couples.
I really appreciate that Christina works hard at making time for these things. She is the Bannerman for our relationship. Not that I don't care or put time and effort to make it special. She is just more steadfast. She wont take no for an answer, and will fight for us at all costs. I am lucky to have her.
