Friday and Saturday I listened to the same podcast twice, not by accident. Deliberately, intesely and happily. I don't think I have ever done that before. Imagine finding out that something you have always wished you had in you, was something that was in your grasp to learn.
The episode in question was from "The Knowledge Project" called The Power of Story. Mathew Dicks, took me on an unexpected ride into the art of listening and telling a great story. I distincly remember thinking at one point: "This is going to change my life". Not because I now have a superpower, rather, it made a dent in my brain that I have felt ever since.
The irony is that I am now trying to employ this new knowledge in this post, knowing well that I couldn't possibly live up to yours, or my own expectations after hering an epidose twice and thinking about it for 48 hours.
Instead I will just get this first unimpressive post out of the way, dispelling the expectations and allowing me a little path through the bushes tomorrow.
The final note to myself is that I need to make sure that I don't do what I always do, and get discouraged at my first attempts. I know they will suck. Now that I see things differently, I must be patient and corregate softly while I navigate these new insights, and learn how to deploy them.
