Click! Another memory snapshot. Surprise surprise, it was of my daughter. Most fathers, I'm sure can relate to saving memories of their children. That's not what I want to dabble about today. However, this moment was only made possible with working remotely, which happens to be todays subject matter.

Most knowledge workers have tried working remotely in some capacity. The Corona virus made the latest great push towards this. However, as the years pass, many are returning to their beloved cage.. Ahem! I mean cubicles --Is that any better?-- to once again fraternize at the watercooler.

I see the appeal. I also see the opportuinity cost. While I could delve into the many advantages that remote work affords us, today I will only give you a single nugget. It came about as I was about to make myself lunch. My wife was home, and my oldest daughter was sick, and home from school.

We sat down for a lunch just the three of us. I wasn't anything spectacular. In fact, the lunch was just plain old sandwhiches. But the company of two, some of the people in my life that I love the most, energized me and made the day amazing. It was a delightful and unexpected gift on this tuesday. They actually appear more often than you would think.
