I just spent a about an hour digging into my brain with an A.I. Claude, Opus 5 if you must know. The conversation wasn't fulfilling in a social context. I didn't feel, say, the opposite of loneliness. The thing is, I wasn't looking for company, or being social. I was trying to to dig into a problem with my work patterns.
What were those patterns? Another day my friend. The reason I am writing this, is because In about 30 messages I had about 16 "Aha!" moments. All of which made me understand my behaviour better. Now, you could argue that the LLM is just stroking my ego, but I prepped it to argue against if need be, and it did so quite aggressively.
But all the details don't matter today. Today I'm thinking, what happens to us, when—if—the machines are just better at conversing with us? Will we drop people more and more? Scary.
