It's 10:30. π₯ A woman is working from home on her patio and locks herself out of her house. She has her 'Oh shit' moment. π± And the adrenaline kicks in.
Laptop. Check. π»
Phone. Keys. Wallet. Charger. No. π±πππ
Third-world problems. π
She does her best to coordinate logistics and tells her workmates on Slack that she's locked out and needs help.
Feels the shame and guilt. π
βοΈ Thought 1: I hate being an inconvenience. Have to let them know.
βοΈ Thought 2: This is going to take a while. I will make up for the lost hours later.
βοΈ Thought 3: I wish my husband wasn't out of town. He doesn't fly back until 3.
βοΈ Thought 4: I have to fly out for a work conference and be at the airport by 5. UGH. Do I need to cancel? Great. More problems.
The laptop battery dies. π»π
Third-world problems. π
So she goes outside and knocks on all her neighbors' doors. No one is home because everyone is at work. The anxiety starts to creep in. Now she is on the sidewalk, looking around for some stranger to help.
Embarrassed AF. π³
And guess who comes to the rescue? Not me. Kiara. π
Kiara puts her paw on my hand as I'm doom-scrolling and gives me her puppy dog eyes. πΎπ
'I'm working, momma. What do you want? Food?' No reaction.
'Outside?' She prances and twirls, grabs her bone, and makes her way to the door.
It's that time of the day. I need a walk. I put on my rock climbing harness (a makeshift hands-free dog leash), grab the keys, and we head out the door.
During my walk, this woman approaches:
'Excuse me. I'm so sorry! I locked myself out, and my husband's out of town. Can I borrow your phone to call a locksmith?'
'Sure, I left my phone at home. Walk with me, and you can come upstairs and figure it out.'
She hesitates, offering to wait outside not to be an inconvenience.. (Seriously?! Do I give off creepy vibes? Lol.)
'Yeah, no big deal. It's easier if you use my laptop to research and make calls. Take your time, no rush.'
I immediately felt the energetic weight come off her shoulders and flutters of anxiety shift.
Any Hairdressers or Nail technicians reading this? I think you get it.
'OMG. THANK YOU! I've been outside for two hours. I'm on my period, I have to catch a flight, my husband's out of town, my neighbors aren't home, and I can't reach my workmates. I told myself, Lord, Send me an Angel.' π
I smiled, knowing I've been in similar situations before.
'Yeah, no big deal. Have some cookies I just baked while you're at it. πͺ I'm going to clean my bathroom.'
Do you like being at the right place, at the right time? 'Cause I do.
It's seriously my mantra. I mean, if I didn't have the total freedom to set my own hours and be there when I'm needed, I couldn't have helped out this random stranger.

While I am kind of a do-gooder (not a virtue signaler), I don't do it for the karma points, but this feeling.Β
It's a good feeling that you can't replicate, and it's a total win for humanity, you know? So selfish of me.
Okay, that's a page from my day. πβ¨

Remember: You are the one who will decide where to go. And you must remember that when you are in your lowest low. Donβt remain there unconsciously. Hang in there lovingly, so you can give birth to the impossibility. Deep transformation is on the way. When you embody your pain as a gateway.Itβs a gateway to a fuller life.
