Invert Always Invert

'Inventing falsehoods is easy, and therefore they are easy to vary once found; discovering good explanations is hard, but the harder they are to find, the harder they are to vary once found.' - David Deutsch

Two Way Thinking... An explanatory probe on the above quote.

Making things up (lies/excuses/blame) is easy.

As a result it's equally easy to copy / imitate what we see around us and to keep falsehoods going because that tends to be 'The Normal Way / culture'.

The scary reality is that in large part the people that do this don't even realise it's going on, because it's so normal and taken for granted. No real winners in this because if you look at the implications its basically a game of who can be the best in using falsehoods...

Making things up that offer 'real value' for 'everyone' is hard to do & takes a lot of effort. It also can be equally hard to find others that do the same which is why so many organisations are average at best. Why is this? In my mind it's because the so called 'leaders' are not leading in any effective ways...

However, once one has experienced the real value of a good model/explanation that's hard to sledgehammer (meaning it's aligned with reality/has truth in it) then all the falsehoods get dissolved...

It's an opportunity / future focus, rather than a problem / past focus. With a well honed sledgehammer You are left with things that have inherent quality/excellence... (Critisism actually means 'find the excellence in things' if you look hard enough. Sadly, Most see it as a personal attack and don't have a well honed sledgehammer.

The ones who see this realise the value for themselves / others and start to embrace it... They start to become part of a team that seeks better models/explanations rather than clinging on to bad ones.

The ones who don't see the real value for themselves, are not prepared to see it. They may sense it but quickly dismiss it... And then try to defend/deflect/manipulate and even try to recruit others to help them.

The sad reality is that In a toxic environment this strategy works very well and sometimes truly good people can easily be destroyed by the ignorant.

In an outlier environment it will have an inverse effect. Why?

Because the ones who have the best models / explanations have reality on their side. And i've never come across anyone who can beat reality, ever.
