Sometimes we take life too seriously:
We react to certain issues at work as if they were life-and-death situations.
We give our to-do lists 100% of our attention and forget about the million other aspects of life that are worth paying attention.
We book large portions of the work week with back-to-back meetings as if we were machines that didn’t need space.
When you take life too seriously, it stops being fun at some point. You may even already be familiar with this feeling.
To that end, it’s worth heeding this advice daily: laugh.
Laughter imbues a deep and unconditional feeling of joy in ways that only laughter can.
Everyone deserves that joy. You deserve that joy.
Sure, laughter does not magically make your problems go away.
But laughter can alleviate some of the pressure that comes from taking everything so seriously, and can make you feel a little bit more whole, happy, and confident about taking on life’s peaks and valleys.
If you look for it, there’s a good chance that there’s humor to be found in many life situations. And if it’s at no one’s expense, why not laugh and brighten your state of mind in the process? Wouldn’t that be a great way to live?
