A classic Indian dish and very easy to make.
Ingredients
1 cup of rice
1 cup split mung beans
Turmeric
Cayenne
Black pepper
Salt
Lemon juice
Olive oil
Optional
Onions
Courgettes
Tomatoes
For this one I'm using onions but you can use any vegetable you like.
Put all the ingredients in a large pan—except the olive oil and lemon juice, add water and cook until the rice and split mung beans are cooked—usually around 20-30 minutes. The veg will be cooked. If you prefer the veg less cooked—then add half way through. Add the olive oil and lemon juice at the end.
