As a frontend engineer you’re going to find yourself needing to venture into the backend either via code, meetings, reading the docs, or the mother of all circumstances, via a bug. The inevitable place where frontend will meet backend if nothing else, will be at the data contract, and that’s a great opportunity to start spreading your wings within the team or cross functions and your journey in software. You can even influence the direction of those APIs if you come in with good ideas.
