Complaint form to submit to Attorney General's Office
Attention Roosevelt Landings Residents,
Fortunately 🙏🏿 I have just received communication from the Office of the New York State Attorney General's Office.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to briefly speak with Letitia James at a political function and explained the concerns residents are facing regarding the landlord’s attempt to prematurely submeter tenants without first resolving ongoing issues — including malfunctioning baseboard heaters, broken thermostats, and excessive or questionable fees.
At that time, she directed a member of her staff to provide a formal complaint form for distribution to affected residents. I have now received that form.
Once completed, you may submit the complaint directly via email at your convenience. After your complaint is received, an investigator from the Attorney General’s Office will contact you individually to follow up.
Please be sure to copy me on your email at: Romanoreid@yahoo.com when submitting your completed form so we can maintain accurate records of resident participation and ensure proper follow-up.
If you believe you have been impacted, I strongly encourage you to complete and submit the form so that your concerns are formally documented and reviewed.
Once you've completed your form, you may submit it at your convenience to: Complaints@AG.NY.gov
After your complaint is received, an investigator from the Attorney General’s Office will contact you individually for follow-up. I will also be calling a fellow contact of mine to get the statuses of our group grievance
Please remember to copy me on your complaint submission. It helps streamline communication and allows me to properly track participation and follow up where necessary.
Additionally, you may attach photographs or other documentation to substantiate your grievances. Clear evidence (such as pictures of faulty heaters, sparking outlets, broken thermostats, or billing statements) will strengthen your complaint. If you would like to provide additional written details beyond the form, you may include that information directly in your email submission.
Respectfully, Please don't ask what you should list on your complaint submission. That could be viewed as "manipulation of a legal document". Everyone has different issues impacting their tenancy in different ways. Everyone should indicate all the relevant violations in your units and by the landlord. This is why it's URGED that 311 is notified and those on housing subsidies request an inspection. It validates your complaint.
