Dear Roosevelt Landings Neighbor,
Tonight 3/23/26 at 7 PM at La Hermosa Church at 5 W 110th Street (across 5th Avenu). Bill Salo, our lawyer and President of Schomburg Resident's Council, will fill us in on where our legal battles stand.
Please tape the accompanying meeting flyer on the front door of your apartment.
1. Our request for a Temporary Restraining Order was turned down by the new judge on the case. We are asking him to review the facts, and if he does not change his ruling, we will appeal. This process, however, will not secure a resolution before the 3/24 due date of your electric bill, if you have received one. Please read Bill's attached statement on our case and his recommendation on paying your bill.
2. We received the tenant's copy of the Fire Marshal's Report from the family of the deceased. We have sent it to our legislators and additional authorities. We do not have a blanket permission to distribute the report. It does, however, state that the location where the fire ignited is at the left side of the south bedroom's baseboard heater (on the south wall, 5 feet from the west wall, and 5 inches above the floor.) Additionally, the report states that FDNY served L&M with a summons for 4 building-wide fire safety protection regulations. I am attaching a flier that we posted, and was removed the very same day so please also tape this flyer to the front door of your apartment so that everyone passing by can read it. If you have a ring camera- please email me the information if someone removes the document.
3. We need every tenant to be vigilant about hazards in our building. Please complete the Fire Safety Form at the very top of our webpage: http://www.rlra.notion.site. It will only take seconds to complete, and you may be saving yours or your neighbor's life! The content of this form will be distributed to the authorities and the legislators who are helping to literally hold L&M's toes to the fire!

6. Bill's enclosed 3/21 letter will identify where our cases and other submetering matters stand. I'm enclosing it for your information.
Please be careful about signing any paperwork L&M/C&C sends to you. Be sure to keep the envelope or email that was delivered to you. Make a copy of anything you sign and return to them. State the words, "signed under protest" should you object but wish to sign anyway.
