Dear Roosevelt Island Neighbors;
Actions speak louder than words, so please join the demonstration on Saturday, 8/15, from 1 to 3 PM to show our building's strength as we fight against L&M's outrageous submetering plan! We came out in big numbers for our hearing several months ago. Our turnout for Metergy's botched meeting last week was awesome! We need to do it again!
The location for the demonstration is Schomberg Plaza, 1295 5th Avenue, at 110th Street.
If you have any connections with the press, please reach out to them!
Unfortunately, we don't have access to transportation for our disabled folks, but if you have Access-a-Ride, please use it.
Also, we've organized a sign-making event with the cooperation of the Sr. Center, 546 Main Street, 12 to 2 PM, for folks to help get our voices heard!
It's yet to be seen, but highly unlikely that Metergy will shut off electricity on August 10th, even if you did not sign their payment plan. They'll stop at no unscrupulous intimidation tactic to get you obligated for your electricity. Stay strong!
The flier for the demonstration is attached.
Please make copies and post them in your building, including on the front door of your apartment. Tell all your neighbors and friends!
Yours in solidarity!
