I tried Omarchy for the first time a year ago when it first was released. It was good then. However, it felt like a nice hobby OS. It didn't feel production ready.
Today marks a week since I started using Omarchy Quattro for ALL personal projects and work (not at work yet as I have to use a Mac at work). In short, I am in awe. I love it. It makes computing wildly fun.
I am working on a Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 9. Not a new device by any means, and I have chosen to grab that over my M5 Pro Macbook Pro! It hasn't been easy. The workflow and keybindings are new. You have to really think about what you are doing but the more you do it the faster you get and I can imagine in a month or two I will be quick and smooth just like I am on MacOS. That being said, everything is just a keybinding away! I don't have this as much on MacOS. I can get just about anywhere I need to with two taps of the keyboard. I love this.
The last thing worth mentioning is the extensiblity. It really can do literally anything you want. The Plugin Marketplace proves this point. I am using iMessage on my Mac, using my Airpods, copying and pasting from my iPhone to my Omarchy laptop. The garden doesn't seem to have any walls! Omarchy should be called the Wall-less garden, because its beautiful, elegant, and free as free gets.
Check back in next week.
