I don’t gush over much, but there are those people I can’t help but get excited to meet.
Most recently, I ran into an idol of mine. Names aren’t important.
The last thing I would expect today was to have such a chance encounter with such a person in a small coffee shop in Southern Oregon; but it happened.
It was brief. Maybe a total of 3-5 minutes - but dang! - it was great.
It’s moments like this that remind me of how small the world can get.
Why Southern Oregon? Well, they were in town to visit family. They hiked the same trail we locals hike. They drink the same coffee, around the same time. Because, they’re human. Bigger than life? Maybe. But still subject to living a familiar life.
Did I take a selfie? No. This moment was for me to capture - not the world. Do I wish I could have had more time? Yes, and maybe I will.
But for now, I’ll appreciate a chance interaction and a shared moment in time with my long-time idol with their signature yellow glasses.
