When I first started my coaching business, I kept falling into a motivation trap
When I had clients I had energy and enthusiasm behind my sails
But the moment clients stopped working with me, I made it mean something about me
This led to a loss of motivation, and a loss of belief
I coped by hiding from friends and family.
Avoiding their calls and becoming a hermit
Only to make that self-created shell of shame and doubt harder to break through
That is, until I met my coach Stephen McGhee who helped me create a powerful distinction I refer to as "The McGhee Vortex"
You see, I was stuck because as a scientist (my previous career), I thought I needed data in order to believe in what I was doing.
I thought: π¨ππππ£π ππ¨ πππ‘πππ«ππ£π
But Stephen pointed me to the fact that if I first believe, then I will see.
In other words: π―π²πΉπΆπ²ππΆπ»π΄ πΆπ ππ²π²πΆπ»π΄
Belief itself cΝrΝeΝaΝtΝeΝsΝ evidence!
And when you then see the evidence you created through your belief, you'll naturally begin to believe more in what you're doingβand, in yourself.
Combining both together creates a powerful spiral of unending motivation
HenceβThe McGhee Vortex.
But if you're just stuck like I was in the seeing is believing part, your motivation and belief will falterβand, doubt will creep in. Avoid this at all costs.
Love and Power,
Alex
