Growing up in the jewelry business, I was privileged to get to know independent jewelry retailers from all across the United States. Since childhood, I’ve heard their stories, their successes, and their struggles. During that time, I watched many of my friends grow and nurture their family-owned businesses while my family grew and nurtured Honora.
After we sold the business to Richline, I worked with several of the largest retailers in the US and to see the unique impact a company like Berkshire Hathaway can have on our industry. As much as I learned during that time, it took me away from the independent jewelry world I knew and loved. It’s been a joy to come back to this part of the industry.
As I begin my journey at Jocalio, I’m energized by our mission to empower independent jewelers. I’m optimistic about Val’s vision for a collective that can better compete with retail giants like Signet. I’m thrilled to work alongside a team that helps retailers thrive during a time of unprecedented change.
One of the best parts of reconnecting with my independent friends is the gift of once again hearing their stories, successes, and struggles. With this in mind, I have a favor to ask of any retailers attending Couture on Friday, June 6th, or Saturday, June 7th. We’re bringing in a camera crew to interview you about what it means to be an independent jeweler. It will only take 15 minutes of your time. And it would mean the world to me if you would stop by our ballroom, Musigny 1, to share some of your story. If you’d like to participate, you can select a time here, or just reach out to me.
If you’re an independent jeweler struggling to leverage emerging technology or not seeing results from your digital marketing efforts, come talk to us at Couture. We’d love to hear your story, understand your goals, and learn more about what being an Independent Jeweler means to you.
I hope to see you in Las Vegas!
