It's 10:30am and I'm ready to get out for a walk and clear my head.
I was a little all over the place today.
I thought the best place for me to start was by looking through all my writing so far and really think about how to make it relevant to the project. Initially, this started off as a good exercise, but then it took my down some rabbit holes. I worked on:

I thought the best place for me to start was by looking through all my writing so far and really think about how to make it relevant to the project. Initially, this started off as a good exercise, but then it took my down some rabbit holes. I worked on:
- What kindness at work looks like
- How to change your working identity
- Being humble vs showing your value
- When to make a fresh start
- How to be comfortable spending a lot of time on your own
...and then I took a deep dive into working identity and how to change career. This topic will carry forward to my next deep work session. I'm taking a lot of direction from Working Identity by Herminia Ibarra.
On Monday I'll be spending time with my son, Spencer. My next deep work session will be Thursday 10th June.
I'll leave you with these 10 ways to express kindness:
- Elevate others - Recognise what people do well
- Pay attention - Help people feel seen, heard and understood
- Listen more than you talk - Be genuinely interested in others
- Respond quickly and communicate often
- Clear is kind - Be direct, honest and truthful
- Everyone is trying their best - Trust people to do the right thing
- Be patient and available to provide support and guidance
- Be generous with your time
- Embrace difficult conversations - an opportunity to better understand each other
- Fulfill your promises - Do what you said you would do
That's me done for today. Time to reset and get ready for my other job ;)
Chris.
