"Your time is more valuable now than ever"
This is what someone in my team said to me a few weeks ago - and my first thought was...my time has always been valuable! But, because I've reduced my working hours by 40%, there is a perception that the value of my time has changed somehow. And it's exactly the perception I want people to have.
It's good for me to hear this from my team, because it helps me to be more accountable to myself about how I treat my time, too.
What's interesting is, that as I get older I realise that my time is becoming more and more valuable to me, and I'm taking better care of it today than ever before.

I started working from home a few weeks ago, having moved out of my city office, and I'm still in the transition of trying to find my space at home, and where I can work deeply.
For the next few hours, I've stationed myself at Pacamara, which is a small cafe on Perth Road in Dundee. I've got about 2 hours to write towards a deadline (not ideal!), and so I'm going to make the most of it and do what I can with the time I have.
So, what are the conditions for the next few hours:

So, what are the conditions for the next few hours:
- No internet
- No task switching
- One app - Notion for writing for this project
- Playlist - went for one I created a while ago since I don't have time to spend on this
- Index cards for notes and capture random thoughts
- Timer on
Let's see if I can tally up 2 full hours of deep work before I have to facilitate 4 hours of video calls later today.
DFTBA!
Chris.
