When I feel like I want to go to a cafe to do my writing I know immediately that the whole idea is a distraction (Resistance), and the best thing I can do is sit down at my desk and get on with it.
But not today. I just HAD to get out of the house.
Our landlord is coming to check our property, and although I know everything will be fine, I just can't stop doing stuff around the house. I can't settle down.
What's even more frustrating is that I have a lot of creative ideas floating around in my head that I want to work on.
So, I'm writing this from The Pickled Peacock, which is the cafe at the farm where Gillies and Mackay is. I've ordered a small breakfast and a large coffee, and I'm going to write whatever I fancy.
And breathe.
This is exactly what I need this morning. I feel relaxed and ready to enjoy 90 minutes of writing.
Enjoy the day!
Chris.
