#IndieAppsCatalog progress update 3

Hey 👋,

I have actually checked the list of finished stuff from the previous update and almost thought there is nothing new to report 😅

That's mostly because I have been working on not so visible stuff.

What is done:
- Error logging (love Sentry btw)
- Logic to update existing apps
- Better search that does ranking and searches thorough multiple fields (app name, description and more)
- App screenshots on detail pages with option to switch between categories and "show more" button
- "Random app" button
- Option to sort apps Recently released / Recently updated / Alphabetically
- Button to display QR code for download on app detail
- And the evergreen "minor improvements and bugfixes" 😁

I also want to say big thank you to Daniel Kašaj for many great UX/UI tips and awesome icons for categories!

Future ideas:
- Show app App Store anniversaries on homepage and app detail with some visual flair
- Let developers post "news" about their apps (like a short two paragraphs detailing recent update)
- Account creation with option to create custom app collections (select ones would be featured on the homepage)
- Section to spotlight "underdog" apps (= those that have few ratings)

And here is a bonus for reading the entire thing, at at least skimming to the end :D

The catalog is actually live and you check it out today! But it is not public yet, so please don't share it just yet. Do submit your apps though 👍

Thanks.

Filip
