Had enough of Taylor? Well, this clearly isn’t for you. This six-part docuseries won’t win over a hater but is an exercise in humanizing the phenomenon of the Eras tour by placing it in context, revealing a little about the behind-the-scenes players that made it happen and how much of a family business this all really is. The addition of Travis Kelce is also given an origin and explanation and almost seems the way it always has been despite the number of heartbreaks that led Swift to write so many of her songs. The band, singers, and dancers are given attention and depth and peaks into their personal lives and sacrifice, and there are approximately 2–3 tear-jerking moments per episode. There is an emphasis on shows that took place in Paris, London, New Orleans, Toronto, and the finale in Vancouver. Guests include Ed Sheeran, Florence Welch, Sabrina Carpenter, and Gracie Abrams. It also features occasional breakdowns of the mash-ups that made her “secret songs” and the incorporation of a completely new era mid-tour, The Tortured Poets Department…oh and the secret Swedish getaways that resulted in The Life of a Showgirl. 💃
