Having it easy
If you had it easy, you’ve been given a gift. If you grew up in a decent neighbourhood, did well in the parent lottery, never wondered where your next meal was coming from and had nearly everything you wanted, all of this was a gift. Maybe you had a few struggles and a little drama, but nothing huge.
If you live a comfortable life, with shelter, food, security and friends, you have it pretty easy, all things considered.
The question is, what do you do with it? Head starts don’t happen for everyone. Comfort is a luxury many don’t experience. Taking it for granted means wasting it. Not converting a colossal head start into a win is a tragedy.
Yours set you up for a strong finish. But what will it look like?
Having it tough
If you had it tough, you’ve been given a gift. If you struggled through childhood, navigating issues kids shouldn’t have to deal with. If you grew up before your time because you had responsibility beyond ability, if you had to act quick to avoid danger and think cleverly to survive, all of this was a gift.
If you made it through, made it out, made something positive out of a hopeless situation, you’re made of the stuff that counts.
The question is, what do you do with it? Not everyone gets tested. Not everyone learns resilience and resourcefulness the hard way. Taking it for granted means wasting it. Not converting a colossal advantage into a win is a tragedy.
Yours set you up for a strong finish. But what will it look like?
