A Lesson for tonight.
First. Clear your mind that this story is coming from a person that sells a service.
I'm a restorers. I worked 1000's of jobs. I've worked for others and myself. So I know some of the same feelings.
Stories start with an image. The one you see is the road being cleared.
As an entrepreneur you are expected to do everything. No secret there.
You wear all hats. Too often you never let them go, even when you have the revenue to hire others.
But hiring people is a risk and honestly, a pain. Ask Pablo who has an employee that stole his equipment.
So we continue to get busier and busier. Doing more. Sometimes we upscale with software and other tech to automate. But we get away from the control over quality.
Entrepreneurship can feel like Survivor sometimes. Just get through it.

Etc.
So what I want to express is more than you want to imagine continue too long. We crush creativity, miss opportunities (meeting others at events) and allow sub par competition move on to take market share.
This costs more in marketing and net profit.
Alternatively you find help. A mentor. A coach. Even a partner sometimes. Someone who doesn't think like you.
I've owned companies since 15 (stump grinding business).
But the time I was 28 with a growing business I admitted I didn't know what I didn't know and found a coach.
Almost constantly since then, I've had coach's. Different ones.
Here is what I personally experienced.
The coach's I hired didn't always know more than me about restoration or whatever trade my company serviced. But they did the one thing I just couldn't do.
They cleared the road. They showed me Inc 100 level processes of business structure that allowed me to build the team , let them do what they often did better (because that was what they loved and could focus on). I couldn't focus on everything.
I did 160 thinks ok, but few things excellent. I wanted to feel successful by doing great things.
So coachs helped me do that. Not always the first one I found.
When the road was cleared, I had nothing holding me back.
My sales grew, brand strengthened, profit margins flexed and I worked very little. Acted like a CEO instead of a manager.
Do as I built and sold several companies, I finally felt it was fun to coach others.
So I do now and probably have never felt more successful. Been more free.
A client called tonight (and sparked this post) telling me their complete goal for 2023 was 5.5 mil. It's Oct and they are already at that.
They will surpass 6mil, slight bump in net profit, even after some aggressive marketing.
We worked on scoping and pricing so average job grew a lot.
None of things were difficult. They just needed more than 7 minutes to work on strategy instead fighting fires.
Want to know what else the partners have done?
Built services that will make over another 1 mil next year, more time off with kids and sports and even lost 40 lbs and had gotten in shape.
I'll tell you this. What their coach cost is not even a conversation. It's a bargain at this point.
3-6 in 2 years. That's a huge leap but easier with a network of managers....clearing the way.
So no matter who or what...invest in solutions to move a few levels ahead.
Stop dealing with only days repetitive problems. They are symptoms of something that could be fixed.
When this happens, in 40 cities across the country....we start to move our personal needle.
Improve the industry with professional restorers.
Imagine if one day 3000 companies improve.
We start to be impressive.
Get your road cleared.
Appreciate those that hung in for the whole story.
Cheers
