Memento mori.
Remember: you must die.
Not to be morbid. But to stay awake.
Remember: you must die.
Not to be morbid. But to stay awake.
Life in Your Years, Not Years in Your Life
I heard this line once, and it hit me like a brick:
“It’s not the years in your life, it’s the life in your years.”
I wear a pendant around my neck that represents memento mori.
It’s Latin. It loosely means “remember that you must die.”
And while that sounds like something carved on a tombstone, for me it’s more of a reminder carved into the front door of my business.
We don’t know when this ride ends.
So we don’t build companies we’ll enjoy someday.
We build companies that give us margin, space, and impact today.
Live On Purpose. Build With Purpose.
I’ve coached too many owners who built beautiful businesses they secretly resented.
Because they chased size. Or revenue. Or respect.
And forgot to build a life.
Here, we’re doers.
We launch early.
We correct fast.
We don't wait for permission or the perfect moment.
We launch early.
We correct fast.
We don't wait for permission or the perfect moment.
Next year is never guaranteed.
So why the hell are we planning for it like we own it?
So why the hell are we planning for it like we own it?
If you're building a business you love, but it's costing you the life you want...
Stop.
Rethink.
Redraw the blueprint.
Rethink.
Redraw the blueprint.
Because building a business isn't the goal.
Building a life through your business is.
