Tuesday’s feed the brain

I’d like to share something i learned today.
FYI, Tuesday’s and Thursdays are my “learning or creating” days.

I have big chunky blocks for my days and even parts of days.

It’s not wise to to context switch. Example: pay bills (frustrating) then jump to sales strategies or marketing. The brain is locked in one mode.
Doing daily blocks gives you time to “flow”.

But back to my learning.

I was watching a learning segment of a regular guy on Podcast. He had a guest that specializes in public speaking. Specifically selling from the stage.

Now let me share that I hate selling. I mean it’s not a natural mode for me. I like to deliver and inspire.

This author, who I’ve studied before, has a new book out about presenting and helping the audience make a buying decision. Not something they don’t need. Only something that the value of the transformation exceeds the purchase price.
Now I can live with that.

One thing he mentioned in the hour is the danger of “over-sharing”. Delivering too much, lots of frameworks and formulas.

As a person that loves to give generously I have spent the last 7 years working on presenting and delivering and the model has been “give away your best stuff” and the attendee or guest will wonder what else you have.

But like all things, the internet, social media and now AI have bastardized content. It’s overloaded and really hard to determine what is valuable and what is real versus “attention content”. Man do I feel that.

I hate AI. It’s causing psychosis in many people and we are working hard on staying authentic. We even generally brand with black and white with simplistic font. Intentionally. Because more and more people are telling us they value authentic, which is how we choose to show up. We hate having to hype and be flashy to get attention. We want the lesson or offer to be the hype. Then get reviews.

So my takeaway is study this book and approach to adapt new ways to speak and present to be more valuable and still make sales so our company can survive. When we earn, we can give.

Excited to learn new stuff. Thankful for Tuesday.

Cheers
Klark
