An effective way to strategize is to have different buckets.
My buckets are mindset, tactics, monetization, and online video. Every piece of content I ship falls under one of these buckets.
Creators will have different buckets, but there is one bucket that every creator should include in their strategy.
Sharing your process and journey should be treated as an independent content bucket.
As Content Creators, it's easy to get caught up with our niche and focusing on ways to add value specifically around that topic.
But as we do this, we should also document the journey.
Our journey is the most important content to our most important community members.
True "fans" of Content Creators aren't just interested in the value they provide, they're interested in the creator themselves. They have an interest in knowing more about how they work, not just what they produce.
When we share content about our journey, we're specifically catering to our community. A community of individuals who care about you as a person.
Each time we create content is an opportunity to document.
Here are a few different ways to approach this content bucket:
- Film behind the scenes. Regardless of the type of work you do, people love getting access to what happens behind the curtain.
- Write essays talking about your process. Writing is a great way to articulate your thoughts. It’s also a great way to share your work across multiple different platforms.
- Go live or do stories talking directly to your community. Answer questions and share something you've never discussed before. This may feel uncomfortable at first, but is the best way to build trust.
Documenting the journey is easier than creating content. Don't let this bucket go to waste.

I post a new essay every day, but to prevent spamming your inbox I only choose to email a few of them each week. Here are my previous HEY World posts.
- On Twitter and Instagram I post content about personal branding
- My YouTube channel is primarily focused on tech
