There are 20 million government employees entrenched in their careless and corrupt ways. Around 10,000 work for the CBSE. Another 10,000 IPS and IAS officers.
Making decisions every single day. Thinking about what their political overlords would think. About how to maximise their vig and capacity to extort you.
And that’s why I have zero hope for this country and in its future.
The system is stacked against the citizen. The government and its employees are your adversaries. Not in a traditional you need to fight them way. That’s a fight you will lose. Always.
You need to insulate yourself from their stupidity and decision making.
If they are corrupt and leak exams, set yourself up to never need to take their exams.
If they want you to learn a dead, pointless language like Sanskrit, you should never have to be in a classroom that needs to abide by this diktat.
There are ways you can’t insulate yourself. Money, passport, taxes, infrastructure etc. Use it as needed. It’s a necessary evil you can’t avoid.
This is a deeply cynical and privileged take. But that’s necessary. Hope is a mistake.
India and those who run it will disappoint you over and over again. That’s the only certainty.
This is privilege talking right? Well, I work stupidly hard to put myself in a position to be able to insulate myself in every way I can. And I will consistently plug away at that capacity.
