Modest ambitions

This is a simplistic fairy tale. Not everyone who start their own business have aspirations to change the world or build a giant business.

Some of us just do our thing because it drained my soul to work in an organization with meetings, bosses and fixed timings. Being a cog didn’t cut it for me. Not because of raw ambitions to change the world. Going to an office and waiting for a salary left me feeling empty and bored. Even if the work was occasionally fun.

I am not going to change a road let alone the world. I am just trying to have some fun with what I do to pay the bills. And it improves the quality of life for 400 people.

Hell, my business model is silly. Just coach whoever shows up one hour at a time. And build a gym that I would enjoy training in. And make stuff that is durable and fun to use. Not a single rational business soul who has laid eyes on our gym has ever thought it could be scaled or franchised.

And I am fine with that. Some of us toil away outside organizations not to change the world. No delusions of building the next google. Just an adult sandpit to have some fun in while paying the bills.
