Parents grow up to become kids. Just not as curious.

Parents are strange. Why do they grow to become kids again? But not as curious.

They appear more intelligent at an age when we have to tilt our heads up and talk to them. Now, they've become wiser. They care too much about us compared to how much they care about themselves. We praise their attitude and behavior. We reward them so much that they don't feel comfortable being selfish.

They deserve to be selfish. They deserve to worry less.

Shouldn't we present ourselves to be well capable? How much do we invest to be responsible for ourselves and introduce ourselves as capable to them? We do not. We wait for the life to teach us the hard way. Do not do that. Have hard conversations; that's the fastest way.

We have the luxury of growing up in a better world; they couldn't do it for themselves. It's our moral responsibility to bring learnings from this better world we grew up in and help them apply.

List down the things that could be better at home and now aren't. Go beyond the conversation of how well you are leading your life and hammer them with questions that will keep them on course for a well-deserved life.
Gift them a better pillow. Gift them a better mop. Better everything that they use the most.

They will never ask you because they do not know what's better. You will waste money because you won't know what works for them. You should try because that at least has a chance to make their life 1% better.

You don't owe your life to them. You owe a responsibility to them. This responsibility is easy to apply only if you ensure they become curious. Tell them stories. Dumb it down in ways they comprehend. Find relatable analogies. I struggle to explain. Argue to help.

Don't let the new world leave them behind. It doesn't have to be this way.
