Bed bugs are nasty. They start, and they never end. They keep growing; never die. We had to change the cot, bed, sofa and finally bring heaters and pesticides to make them fully go away after weeks of suffering.
But today, I'm not here to write about Bud bugs. I'm here to write about small life. That's the one which is not happening, and yet it's too late by the time we realize.
I remember the days, I used to sit in my classroom in my school wait until 4 pm for my school to end. The more I waited, time slows down even futher. My bad, I just can't drop out of the school. That's either for millionaires or I plan to run a tea shop down the street.
Today, weeks and months fly.
Monday starts, and I spend hours in Bangalore traffic, buying headache for free and drive 30 kms a day. By the time I finish some task, it's already evening.
Go for a walk, have tea has become such a luxury. Tuesdays - wash dishes.
Wednesday, time to do laundry, and clean up the mess at home.
Thursday - feel bad because I had too much food? Later think, "What's the point of playing badminton every week? Is that even enough?"
Luxury is sitting on the sofa, and get a Coolberg Peach Non Alcoholic Beer, setting in the orange light at 9.30 pm; think about how ducked up life is going to be... End the drink thinking, "I will figure it out".
No more possiblity of suddenly calling a friend over the weekend on the go to do something. We need each other's reservations and planning ahead. Wait are friends, as we know them, becoming busier? for good.
Get a cold warm sweater, walk on the dim lighted streets at 11.30 pm talking to a friend far in US is the new idea of socializing.
Solving someone's problem, isn't lending pen or scooty any more. It's lending money, that might not come back; probably not enough in the pocket to solve someone else's in the first place.
Clean the room and Tidy the floor are signs to relax.
Monthly twice, stare at those bank accounts and calculate for the future goals, even if nothing will most probably change drastically. Nothing really adds up, only compounds.
Is this how it's everywhere? May not be.
Doesn't it sound like peace that Gandhi ji always wanted for us?
