As a previous manager of sorts for a fund most of my investing is my participation in the fund. Fund managers typically have some cash sunk into the fund and it will be awhile before any of it flows back but hey the Kredivo news is a sign that it will come.
Since leaving, and wanting to keep my investing chops warm, I have done a few angel deals.
Very selective.
Recently I was invited to join an Angel.co syndicate, not the first time, but the first time I decided to jump in.
Mostly joined cause the syndicate manager is in the top 10 list of angels with the most exits and an ex-founder of one of the best Startups(AWS influence) I ever worked at or for.
I am pretty impressed at how painless it was, how easy it was to get it done and fund it. I can really see that if I wanted to actively manage money just running syndicates via a platform like Angel.co or similar.
The trick with all investing is good deal flow and if I can't sort my own then might as well ride the coat tails of others who do it far better than I do.
Again - I continue to feel quite lucky I have this access and the cash.
Happy Hunting!
