Heal your knees

I saw a common pattern in running communities that I got a chance to see. There are many runners with tapes around their knees. They have knee issues. Therefore, the suggestion is to use tape (whatever the products) to stabilize them. And they can run.

Similar approach seen in other domains. Office workers have problems with their back. The market and companies come up with "brilliant" solutions: create comfortable, ergonomic chairs. The intention is to help them sit longer without feeling pain.

Whenever there is a problem, people come up with solutions to cover it and move on and continue their same actions and behavior.

None of them will help you in the long term. It is the opposite. It hides the physical feedback and encourages you to continue the behavior that caused them. Soon, the tape cannot rescue your knees and you have to stop running. Your back will hurt more and a whole other of issue, and you cannot sit and work any longer.

Heal your knees first. Find out what made your knees hurt. And what you should do to correct it. Usually, the solutions are easy and available for free. You just need to stop hijacking or shortcutting. It takes time and courage to stop and look at the issue; to ask honest questions. Stepping back is much harder then moving forward.
