I discussed with my coworkers about team building practices in the context of a company. Slogans such as:
"We are one."
"We are family."

I do not believe in any of them. A team is a group of people connecting together at a period of time and doing some specific tasks. It usually lasts a few months or years. Then we join another team. Repeat.

Family is completely different. We do not choose our parents. Our kids do not choose us as their parents. And we chose to have kids. The bonding lasts forever. Some have good relationship. The others have bad experiences. Family includes your significant partner. Culture differs. In Vietnam, we expect to have one and only one. It is good.

When in a team, be useful!
