Thoughts appear in our head naturally. We observe. We judge. We advice. It happens. Trying to control it brings frustration. Judging ourselves after that brings more frustration.
"STOP!" sign. Just like the Stop sign on the road. We are driving; then we see the Stop sign from a far enough distance. Then we adjust the speed or whatever we are doing while driving.
What if I apply it for the thought process. When I am running on my head with judgements, the urge to give advice, the compliment or about to deliver bad stuff, whatever; "STOP!" imagine seeing the STOP! sign. What coming after that moment does not matter and I do not know nor care.
I applied it for a few times (when I remember to look at the STOP sign). It seems to give me some space to decide; a sense of in control.
