An interesting information I heard this morning from the book "Explore Gene":
The brain guesses the surrounding environment, so the world around us, and then sends signal to peripheral sensors. The sensors send back the actual information to the brain. It will calculate the delta. The goal is to minimize the delta.
And the brain is constantly guessing; never stop. Therefore, if we do nothing, the delta is too big, and the brain confuses, sometimes, panic.
Kind of explaining why it is hard to sit still. And for many, the meditation. For some, especially, in the internet age, the brain is too active. It scans and guesses all the time. And therefore, it requires more and more active feedback. Hence, scrolling is the easiest and deadliest we do. We have not developed the listening to body signals skill well enough to be able to listen to our breaths, our heart beats, ... and subtle sound.
Learn to mediate to calm the brain to regulate its guessing frequency; At the same time, increase the bio-feedback from physical activities.
It all starts to make sense to me.
