If submetering were a baseball game, we'd be on first base. Here's what's happening:
- On August 26th, our residents association joined forces with Schomberg Plaza and the Miles and Parker Residents Associations to file an Article 78 Challenge in NY Supreme Court to overturn the PSC's Draconian submetering order.
- On August 29th, Supreme Court Justice Hon. Denis Reo signed an Order to Show Cause which effectively blocks L&M's immediate plan to begin submetering on 9/1 with a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) preventing them from billing, tenants, cutting off electricity, or evicting anyone over submetering until the next hearing.
- On 9/23, a hearing will take place on our request for a Preliminary Injunction which would block submetering during the entire case. The address for this hearing is 80 Centre Street, room 327 at 2 PM. Your attendance will help demonstrate support for our cause so mark your calendar!
- If you have yet to sign an "affirmation" for our Article 7-A Housing Court Case, please do so. And please tape your "Lipstick-on-a-Pig" fliers (see attached) in your windows to show the world your absurd electric bill once you receive your shadow bill notification. Download the attachment, fill-in the blank with your bill's amount, and make several copies to plaster on your windows!
- Lastly, we'll shortly be sending you forms to sign up for a class action suit against the PSC and L&M.
