Grouping tabs in Firefox

The other day, I wanted to group tabs in Firefox. I don’t like having multiple Firefox windows, and I also don’t like when too many tabs are open, making it hard to tell which is which. So I thought—why not group tabs?

I checked the menu but couldn’t find anything.

Turns out, Firefox actually has a tab grouping feature, but it’s not enabled by default (maybe it’s still in beta).

To enable it:

1. Open Firefox and go to the config page:

about:config

2. Search for:

browser.tabs.groups.enabled

3. Enable it.

Once it’s on, you can right-click any tab to add it to a group. Groups can be opened and closed as needed. So cool!

Enjoy grouping the tabs 🚀
